For Dan Steiny, at the end of the day, it’s really all about the content. The music, the book, the movie that changes everything, the revolutionary podcast, the radio station that informs and inspires. Ever since Dan got his first phonograph at age 10, he has had a passion for content, the creative process that brings it to life and the technologies that allow it be fully experienced.
This passion has been the driving force behind his digital media career as well as his screenplay and songwriting efforts. He believes that great content not only has the power to entertain, but inform, educate and inspire — to make the world a better place.
Throughout Dan’s career he has had the opportunity to license, distribute, and develop products and partnerships around nearly every type of digital content including; music, terrestrial and pure-play streaming radio, online video/film/TV, audiobooks, podcasts, games, mobile apps and software applications. He has also worked with nearly all digital distribution platforms including PC’s, notebooks, tablets, mobile devices, consumer electronics and the connected car. Companies that he’s worked directly for include Sony Electronics, HP, Motorola Mobility, PBS Home Video, Live365, MediaNet, Liquid Audio and Harman International (JBL, AKG, Harman / Kardan).
On the creative side, Dan has been nominated as finalist and semi-finalist in the Scriptapalooza and Page Award contests for his screenplays KARMA and THE UNSEEN and in 2014 he received “Outstanding Achievement In Songwriting” in the Great American Songwriting contest for his song PAINTED WORLD.
Born and raised in Carmel, CA he’s since lived and worked in New York City and Los Angeles and is currently stirring up trouble in San Francisco/ Silicon Valley. He is a graduate of UCLA.
